D.E.A.R.

It is said that every book you read infuses your brain with fresh knowledge that you never know when you’ll need. At The Academy, through D.E.A.R time, we motivated students to read about topics they were interested in. That was the only guideline we had, other than for them to make sure they could understand what they read.

Many students mentioned learning something new after D.E.A.R. time. Even though they weren’t always what we would consider important occurrences, they still added to the body of knowledge that was expanding throughout the course of the academic year. But the most profound impact of D.E.A.R. time seemed to be the exploration of interests in areas they didn’t think they would be interested in.
