Physical Education

Physical Education (PE) lessons are a vital part of the regular timetable at The Academy. Modern facilities offer plenty of room for students to practice and learn, but we are always looking for ways to make them better. High-quality equipment is used in our schools. Through a comprehensive curriculum, our primary goal is to support the growth of each child’s unique talent and aptitude. We focus on providing our PE teachers with professional development opportunities in order to help them enhance their own capabilities and maximize learning.

Physical education is the only course offered in The Academy that promotes students’ mental and physical well-being, improves learning, and develops the character traits necessary for a successful life. Like math, science, and history, it is believed that physical education also belongs in the core curriculum.

Physical activity helps children do better in academic subjects, but the fundamentals of fitness and health must be upheld. Overcoming a lack of knowledge of fitness and health principles can minimize the risk of developing chronic illnesses and leading unhealthy lives. Running laps around the track is only one aspect of physical education. While enhancing their health and wellbeing, it teaches students important life lessons.

In order to introduce a variety of sports to our students, our curriculum at The Academy is constantly evolving. Age-appropriate techniques are taught. Each class contains lessons that help students develop their athletic abilities and etiquette. The next step for students is to take part in activities at various levels, including intraclass, interregional, and beyond. We prepare kids for a lifetime of participation in sports and physical activity by encouraging self-assurance, fitness, and overall wellbeing, as well as a healthy sense of competition.

Taekwondo

The Academy’s Taekwondo program combines the traditional Korean martial art of Taekwondo with modern fitness routines and self-defense skills. The Academy’s Taekwondo program helps students improve their self-defense skills while also enhancing their athletic prowess and self-awareness. In a way that no other sport, hobby, “activity,” or program can, our engaging taekwondo program can also help our child develop their focus, self-esteem, self-confidence, and an overall sense of purpose. Students can develop traits like perseverance, self-control, and an unbreakable spirit by taking part in taekwondo. Taekwondo also emphasizes moral growth. Children gain a greater understanding of themselves and others, as well as improved concentration, self-discipline, and self-restraint. Taekwondo training in the academy aims to accomplish the following main goals:

  • Courtesy
  • Integrity
  • Perseverance
  • Self Control
  • Indomitable Spirit

Gymnastics

Most children participate in sports and physical activity for the first time in a school setting. The fundamentals of movement that can be applied to other sports and activities are learned in gymnastics, making it a crucial physical activity for students to comprehend in a school setting. Here is where they start their journey of discovering movement patterns, being imaginative, and learning skills that will last a lifetime.

Gymnastics at The Academy uses techniques covered in the national curriculum. It is a sport that aids in educating students about various aspects and fosters social skills in them. Gymnastics at The Academy is not just a sport but also a form of physical education that promotes self-confidence, discipline, and respect. Through this form of physical education, students are encouraged to work hard and strive for excellence in their gymnastics goals.
